Puppy Mill Bill on Assembly Floor Thursday!
Dear cheryl,
Good news! Thanks in part to the actions of California animal advocates like you, the bill to reduce the suffering of dogs in puppy mills (AB 241) will be voted on in the Assembly on Thursday. Dogs in puppy mills are confined in cages without exercise, and are treated not like family pets but like a cash crop. Please help this bill clear its next hurdle.
Your state assemblymember, Tom Ammiano, needs to hear from constituents like you who support this important bill.
TAKE ACTION
Please make a brief, polite phone call today to Assembly member Ammiano at (916) 319-2013 to urge support for A.B. 241. When you call, be sure to leave your name and address so it is clear that you are a constituent. You can say:
"Hello my, name is [your name] and I live in [your town]. I'm calling to urge [Assemblymember's name] to vote YES on AB 241. This bill would limit the number of dogs confined in puppy mill facilities. As a constituent, I am very concerned about large-scale breeding of dogs in puppy mills. Thank you."
